Rescue Diver, Bainbridge Scuba Center, Sep. 22-23, 2007

WOW is the best way to describe the weather for our Rescue Diver training at BSC!  Saturday challenged our attitude with an overcast gray start, giving way to a pretty blue sky spotted with lingering clouds.  Sunday's weather was simply spectacular!  George W, Ron C, Tim C, and Pete S joined me for Rescue Diver training following two classroom sessions during the week at York Divers.  Rescue divers learn to become more self aware underwater as well as learn and practice skills useful in conducting a rescue of a surface or underwater diver in distress.  We had a fun weekend and topped it off with a multi-faceted staged scenario thanks to my friends Pete B, and Jeff & Kristi R.  The guys did a great job managing the scene, working together and providing appropriate responses for our three victims.  Since we were at the dive site we thought diving might be appropriate so we managed a 65-minute tour on Saturday and a 47-minute fun dive on Sunday.  George, Ron and Tim will return for the York Divers Night Dive Event on Saturday, September 29th, and will complete their training for the Night Diver Specialty.
